Audioread integration: listen to documents on the go
Turn Ruleo documents into audio and subscribe in your favorite podcast app.
Get started
Audioread is included with Ruleo Pro. If you’re on a free plan, upgrade to Pro to use it.
- Open any Federal Register, CFR, or US Code document (or section) in Ruleo.
- Click the Listen button (Audioread icon) next to the title.
- If it’s your first time, we’ll set up your Audioread account; then click Listen again.
- We generate audio from the document text. When it’s ready, a player appears so you can play it right away or copy the audio link.
How it works
When you click Listen, Ruleo sends the document’s text to Audioread, which creates a spoken version. The first time can take about a minute. After that, the audio is saved to your personal Audioread playlist.
Your playlist is available as a podcast feed. You can subscribe to that feed in Apple Podcasts, YouTube Music, or any app that supports adding a podcast by URL. New documents you add with Listen will show up in that feed.
Connect your podcast app
To listen in a podcast app, add your Ruleo Audioread feed URL:
- Go to your Dashboard (Ruleo app home when signed in) or open the Audioread tab in the sidebar.
- In the Ruleo Audioread section, use Apple Podcasts or YouTube Music to open the app with your feed, or tap Copy feed URL.
- In Apple Podcasts: the link may open the app and add the show. If not, go to Library → Edit → Add a Show by URL and paste your feed URL.
- In YouTube Music or other apps: paste the feed URL where the app asks for a podcast or RSS feed.
Once subscribed, new documents you add with Listen will appear in that app like any other podcast episode.
